A BlankTV Feature Presentation:
Hot Damn - "I Am Not An Island"
Forming in late 2009, Hot Damn is a South Wales based, 5 piece pop-punk band that spent little time establishing themselves on the national scene. Their first few months were spent moulding their sound into something that best reflected the message and atmosphere they were trying to portray, and after experimenting with everything from easy-core to post-rock, they’ve found themselves a niche sound somewhere between the family-friendly sensibilities of folk-pop and the lyrical realism and vocal raw emotion of contemporary emo – think Transit taking Basement outside a bar, and having a very serious word.
In the two short years they’ve been together they’ve released 3 EPs, including a split with Swedish pop-punkers Tag Your Targets, who in 2011 they embarked on their first full UK tour with; they’ve also toured the country with Alabama heavyweights Carridale and shared stages with industry giants like With The Punches, Save Your Breath, Don Broco, Basement and The Wonder Years. The future looks incredibly bright for this band, with them set to return to The Ranch Productions studio with esteemed producer Neil Kennedy to record their follow up to their very well received 2012 EP “This Weather Makes It Feel Like Home"and the eagerly awaited follow up to 'This Weather' to be released 2/2/13 'Sleep Alone' is set truly launch them onto the international stage, Hot Damn are gearing up nicely to follow in the footsteps of artists like Kids In Glass Houses and Save Your Breath and put South Wales pop-punk back on the map.
