A BlankTV Feature Presentation:
Waking Theo - "To the Lions"
Relentless and uncompromising yet soaring and intricate, Waking Theo weld the brutal to the beautiful to create music that is both stunning and epic. Drawing influence from a vast cross-section of metal, from classic thrash, through to modern-day melodic death and metalcore, Waking Theo carve out a distinct sound which displays a fine balance between extremity and accessibility.
Since forming in 2006, the Yorkshire based quintet have honed their precise and energetic performance style with devastating effect, resulting in a hard hitting live show few underground bands can match. This has led to their selection for support slots with names such as While She Sleeps, Bleed from Within, Malefice, Trigger the Bloodshed, and many more. Not to mention their recent selection for Bloodstock festival where they showcased their precise and energetic performance style to a packed tent of avid metal fans.
In early 2012 the band took their biggest risk to date and parted ways with their singer of 6 years (Mikey Slatcher) soon after the release of their second EP 'Ghost in the Machine'. The decision was based on the feeling that the band needed a frontman who shared their desire for making a solid impact on the modern day metal scene and was willing to put in the time and effort to make it happen. Soon after, Waking Theo welcomed aboard Craig Gordon, a passionate and skilled vocalist who now completes the current line-up.
Currently the band is in the process of writing fresh material with a view to have a full length album ready to release before the end of 2013.
